A Little Video Could Lead to Substantial Ad Bucks
Office-supply giant Staples is aiming to boost small businesses with a contest that could land some entrepreneurs with a bit of extra cash to spend on advertising.
The company found in a survey released Thursday that seven of 10 small-business owners were optimistic about the future, and 52 percent believed they could grow their companies if only they had the money for marketing.
So the company has launched its “Give Your Small Business the Push It Needs” contest to give five small businesses $50,000 worth of television advertising in their home markets.
Businesses will get 15 seconds of a 30-second Staples ad in their local market.
But if you want a chance to win before the March 14 deadline, you need to be at least a little social-media savvy.
Business owners need to upload a 15-second video explaining their operation to the Staples Facebook page.
