Verizon Has a Few Tips for Small Business
The smaller the business, the smaller the odds that it has a website, which means the odds of it staying small are larger.
A survey conducted for Verizon Small Business shows that only 56 percent of businesses with $250,000 to $500,000 in revenue have websites. However, 73 percent of businesses with $250,000 to $750,000 in revenue have websites.
The study also asserts that small businesses that have their own site are "better positioned to engage and attract customers." About 72 percent of businesses that have websites know how to attract customers, versus only 44 that don't, according to the study.
One possible lesson: Even the smallest of businesses should splurge for the few bucks that it costs to start a basic website. We can imagine that Verizon might be willing to help them get started, but that is only a guess.
