Social Media Week Invades Global Cities
Every year Social Media Week pretty thoroughly infiltrates many of the world’s largest cities to offer a series of interconnected activities and conversations divided into categories such as Art and Culture, Health and Wellness, and Politics and Government. This year the events focus on "Change Through Collaboration."
“We believe that access to high-quality learning experiences, business networking and buyer /seller market places should not be exclusive to a limited number of executives and organizations that can afford it,” said Toby Daniels, CEO of Crowdcentric and Founder & Executive Director of Social Media Week
To ensure that such high-quality networking opportunities are available to the world at large, Daniels and his team have entered 21 cities all over the world, with hundreds of events ranging from Social Media for Social Good in Hong Kong, to The Social Consumer: Digital Detox in London.
Owned and operated by Daniel's New York-based strategy firm, Crowdcentric, Social Media Week was officially launched in 2009 and this year expects 60,000 attendees to participate at the various events.
The scuba-diving, bungee-jumping, snorkeling Daniels also cofounded Think Social, a nonprofit dedicated to advancing the use of social and mobile media for public purposes and hosted at the Paley Center for Media, and helped launch social website designing company, Mint Digital’s United States branch.
This year’s Social Media Week kicked off on Saturday and ends this Friday, February 17.
