Chelsea Clinton Gets Into Digital Media
All those long, televised walks with her parents across the White House lawn must not have left Chelsea Clinton too turned off by the media business. She is joining the board of Internet media conglomerate IAC/Interactive Corp.
The company, headed by media mogul Barry Diller is behind Internet properties such as Ask.com, Citysearch.com, Match.com, and Newsweek/Daily Beast. It revealed its new addition to the board in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing Monday.
The 31-year-old daughter of former U.S. President Bill Clinton and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton previously worked at McKinsey & Co. and Avenue Capital and is now pursuing a doctorate at Oxford University.
“Her skills and background complement the existing areas of expertise of other board members," Justine Sacco, an IAC spokeswoman, said in an emailed statement, reported Bloomberg News.
IAC/InterActive has reported better profitability in recent quarters despite higher operating costs, much of which stemmed from news website the Daily Beast’s tie-up with Newsweek, the Wall Street Journal reports.
