The Power Play Ends

Comcast and DirecTV have reached an agreement that allows DirecTV to carry Comcast’s Versus channel again.

DirecTV is including Versus in the same programming packages it was in prior to the end of last August, when the satellite TV provider’s contract to carry the channel expired.

Versus broadcasts National Hockey League games, so the agreement means DirecTV subscribers who get the channel will be able to watch the Stanley Cup playoffs, which begin next month. One report out of Los Angeles says that the buzz surrounding ice hockey at the Olympics created a sense of urgency to get a deal done.
