Cuban Still Interested in Buying Chicago Cubs

Mark Cuban drew a big crowd of Chicago media before last night's Mavericks-Bulls game in the Windy City. Many were interested in an update on Cuban's hope to purchase the Chicago Cubs.

Cuban said he's still waiting for the Cubs to release their numbers in January, then will try to move forward in his attempt to buy the team from the Tribune Company.

"It'd be great," Cuban told the Dallas Morning News. "I love going to baseball games. There's nothing better than drinking a beer, eating a hot dog and standing up and cheering and yelling. It's a blast. And it's the same way I feel about the Mavs' games. People go, well, you're not from Chicago. Well, I wasn't from Dallas, either. When it's your team, it's your team.

"I don't do things just for the sake of doing them. It's a passion project. It makes great business sense for me. There's so many business applications and technology applications that I can do, just here in Chicago and nationally."
