Castroneves Becomes Third Straight Athlete to Snare Dance Title
Quite a sporting trend is at work on ABC's "Dancing With the Stars".
Race car driver Helio Castroneves become the third straight athlete to win the competition, following former National Football League start running back Emmitt Smith and speed skater Apolo Anton Ohno.
The two-time Indy 500 champion out-tangoed Spice Girl Melanie Brown to secure the crown. Marie Osmond finished third.
"This has been an amazing experience," Castroneves said on "Good Morning America" today. "It was a big challenge for me."
Castroneves, who is used to using his head and neck while sitting behind the wheel, said he was worried about how effective his hips would be.
"In the race car, you do not move your hips and your feet," he said.
After winning, Castroneves was given a container of milk, like the winner receives after capturing the Indianapolis 500.
