NFL Forces Name Change of Super Bowl Mascot
Funny one from the pages of the Arizona Republic.
Spike the Super Ball, the mascot created by the Arizona Super Bowl Host Committee to promote the Feb. 3 game at University of Phoenix Stadium, will now be known as "Team Captain Spike" after the NFL requested a change.

Committee President Bob Sullivan said that the National Football League is "fine with 'Spike,' but says 'Super Ball' is too close to its trademarked 'Super Bowl.'" Spike, who wears a pair of mirrored sunglasses atop his leathered cone-head, and sports arms and legs, has been working across Arizona to snare volunteers for the game in Glendale. About 7,000 volunteers have signed up thus far.
As if the NFL doesn't have better things to worry about.
