Fired by Reggie Bush, Agent Signs With Matt Leinhart
Nothing is shocking in the world of sports agents and their multi-million player clients coaxing them from here to there and maybe back again.
In a soap opera twist, agent Mike Ornstein has signed a marketing agreement with Arizona Cardinals quarterback Matt Leinart, just a day after saying he was fired by New Orleans Saints running back Reggie Bush, who happens to be Leinart's former college teammate at the University of Southern California.

Ornstein's company, The Sports Link in Santa Monica, California, began serving as Bush's marketing agent in January 2006 and once hired Bush as a paid-summer intern.
"We had a great run together," Ornstein said on
yardbarker.com. "Reggie's a special, special guy. The most special I've ever been around in my 20-plus years in sports. We'll remain great friends. I worked for him. He didn't work for me. He makes decisions about how he wants to run his business."
More agent-speak, which just leads to the current marriage between Leinhart and Ornstein.
"When he let go of CAA, the first person we went to was Mike, just based on his involvement with Reggie," Mike Price, Leinart's contract agent, told the Sports Businss Journal. But Ornstein turned them down, Price said, because he was then representing Bush. Price added that Leinart sought out and received Bush's blessing before signing with Ornstein.
The Sports Link will be the third marketing company for Leinart, currently sidelined as he recovers from a broken collarbone. The other two firms the quarterback had been associated with were the Hollywood talent firm Creative Artists Agency and Chicago-based sports management and marketing firm CSMG.
Bush was picked second and Leinhart tenth in the first-round of the 2006 NFL draft after their stellar college careers, which included a BCS championship in 2004. Leinhart captured the Heisman Trophy as the best player in college football that year. Bush won the award in 2005.
