Jones Soda Gets Sponsorship Deal at Brooklyn's Barclays Center

In an intriguing move, Jones Soda has signed a seven-year deal to sponsor the NBA's Nets and their future Brooklyn home, Barclays Center, according to the Sports Business Journal.

The Seattle-based beverage company has only other team sponsorship. It's is with Qwest Field and the NFL's Seattle Seahawks.

The deal, worth a reported $1.7 million a year, includes the installation of a branded Jones Soda Shop at the arena and also gives Jones exclusivity within soft drinks, bottled waters and enhanced waters.

Energy drinks, coffee and ice tea rights aren't part of the deal.

The new arena in downtown Brooklyn is scheduled to open in 2009.
