Torre Could Be Headed to Hollywood
With the Yankees apparently poised to announce his replacement, Joe Torre could find his next gig amid the palm trees in Los Angeles.
The 67-year-old former Yankees bench boss is in line to manage the Dodgers, according to the New York Post. The Dodgers are trying to buy out current manager Grady Little to create the vacancy, the newspaper said.
If Torre replaces Little, it would be a popular move based on the reception Torre had at Elton John's Las Vegas concert two nights ago. John introduced Billie Jean King and Torre from the stage, and the crowd at The Colosseum At Caesars Palace gave Torre a standing ovation, the Post said.

The Dodgers, who last won the World Series in 1988, are desperate to retake the Los Angeles market. The Angels are better, and their owner Arte Moreno has successfully marketed his club as an Los Angeles brand despite playing in Anaheim.
Torre is a former Angels broadcaster who had said he likes Southern California. He would give the Dodgers an instant jolt of star power, and his calmness and green-tea-drinking karma appear to be a perfect fit for the managerial post 3,000 miles from the Bronx.
Plus, who better to manage the Dodgers than a Brooklyn native on the franchise's
50th anniversary season in Los Angeles?
