Golfer Sorenstam to Host Sponsor Summit
Even legends see the importance of the meet and greet.
Annika Sorenstam is hosting "Team Annika," a two-day sponsor summit this week in Orlando with officials from Callaway Golf, Lexus, Merrill Lynch, Cutter & Buck, Rolex, Kraft, Oakley, NetJets and Ginn Club & Resorts among others.
The gathering will be used to "brainstorm new ideas, network and ... play some golf," reports Brandweek.
Sorenstam this year opened the Annika Academy golf school at the Ginn Union Resort, Reunion, Florida; unveiled a web site and debuted her own LPGA event, the Ginn Tribute Hosted by Annika at the River Towne Country Club, Charleston, South Carolina.

A herniated disk in her back suffered in April has limited her to 10 tournament appearances this year. Since turning pro in 1992, she been the successful face of women's golf - winning 10 majors and more than 80 tournaments.
