CBS Still Trying to Avoid Super Bowl Indecency Fine
On and on it goes, vis a vis Janet Jackson's "wardrobe malfunction" almost four years later.
The FCC continued to defend its decision to fine CBS $550,000 for Jackson's breast-baring antics with Justin Timberlake during the halftime show of the 2004 Super Bowl. The FCC said in federal court the network ignored signs that the provocative performance was about to go too far, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

About 90 million people watching the Super Bowl heard Timberlake sing, "Gonna have you naked by the end of this song," as he reached for Jackson's bustier. The commission noted that Jackson's choreographer was quoted three days earlier as saying the performance would include "some shocking moments."
Isn't it time for CBS to admit responsibility? Bottom line: the network allowed MTV to
put together that infamous halftime show.
