NHL Reaches Production Deal with Warner Home Video

Perhaps no sports league has done more to embrace the world of new media than the National Hockey League.

So it comes as no surprise that the NHL and Warner Home Video have reached a multiyear production and distribution partnership for officially-licensed NHL content. Projects will include team histories, championship seasons, magic moments, player profiles and complete games.

WHV will distribute a minimum of six new worldwide releases per year for
the next five years. There also will be increased cross-marketing opportunities with WB Theatrical and Warner Premiere during the term of the deal, the league said.

"When it comes to passion and loyalty, it's hard to top what the NHL has to offer," said
Jeff Brown, WHV Senior Vice President and General Manager TV, Sports and Franchise.
"We are thrilled to continue our relationship with the NHL, and we look forward to expanding our joint venture into non-traditional avenues which will only help grow the brand."
