Golf's Wachovia Championship Will Stay in Charlotte
Continuity is key for the PGA Tour as it attracting top players to major events.
As further proof, the Wachovia Championship will stay in Charlotte as negotiations are nearly complete to extend the event's contract with the PGA Tour through 2014, according to the Charlotte Observer.

The extension would add four years to the tournament and ensure it keeps its early May dates, which are about midway between the Masters and the U.S. Open. Tiger Woods won this year's Wachovia Championship.
By extending the contract, tournament officials will be in a position to complete more long-term planning for the annual event, which has raised more than $5 million for charity, primarily Teach For America, the newspaper said.
