Legend Bud Collins, Bounced by NBC, Joins Tennis Channel
In a move as logical as Roger Federer's court sense, Bud Collins - unceremoniously booted by the heartless corporate machine at NBC Sports after 35 years with the network - has joined the Tennis Channel.
The 78-year-old Collins, known for his blazingly colorful outfits and creative player analysis, started writing for the Boston Globe in 1963 and is assuredly the best ambassador the sport has ever had. Still NBC saw fit to eliminate him from their coverage DURING this summer's Wimbledon.

Collins had signed with ESPN before the U.S. Open. His Tennis Channel gig is for two years and includes on-air appearances and writing for the channel's Web site.
Smart move indeed by the Tennis Channel!
