How Much Did Radiohead Make on Downloads in October?

Web surfing tracker comScore released a study today on how many people downloaded Radiohead's new album In Rainbows since its release in October.

Here are the basics from the report:
- 1.2 million people worldwide visited InRainbows.com between October 1-29
- A "significant percentage" of visitors downloaded the album
- Of this "significant percentage" 38 percent paid for the download
- The average price paid for those who paid was $6.00

Unfortunately, comScore does not state what that "significant percentage" is, so, using the above numbers plus the fact that the album was available for downloading on October 10, here is a table which shows, depending on the percentage who paid, how much Radiohead could have brought in: (Note: this excludes those who paid for the CD and vinyl versions of the album as comScore did not release any figures on that.)

Percent
Paid
Gross
100% $1.89 million
90% 1.69
80% 1.51
70% 1.32
60% 1.02
50% 0.76
40% 0.53
30% 0.31
20% 0.15
10% 0.05

As a reference point, Greg Sandoval at CNET's Crave blog reports that Radiohead typically made between $9 million and $20 million from album sales on each of its previous efforts.
