Late Breaks: 'NYT' Vivi-section; CNN Slides, more

-The latest victims of cost-cutting at The New York Times: the freelancer-heavy City and Escapes sections. Both are likely to go soon. [NYO]

-As foreshadowed here, CNN had a historically bad March, falling to No. 3 in prime time for the first time ever. [AP]

-Metro USA, which owns a chain of free commuter-targeted dailies, is the latest newspaper publisher to drop AP. [Crain's]. □
