Idle Chatter: Nuts to That; False 'Idol'; more

-The Weather Channel is close to naming former CNBC executive Bill Bolster as its new CEO, apparently for want of a better option. [NYP]

-Grape Nuts cereal is launching a new ad campaign, aimed at men, that centers on the word "nuts" as a pun for male gonads. Bravo. [WSJ]

-The Atlanta Journal-Constitution is shrinking its newsroom by nearly 30 percent and downsizing its distribution area. [E&P]

-And more downsizing is probably on the way at The Washington Post, which expects to lose "substantial money" in 2009. [WaPo]

-Is there nothing true or beautiful in this life? American Idol's producers have confirmed that the show's group performances are pre-recorded. [NYT]
