Mixed Media Recommends: These Great Profiles

A few people emailed yesterday to ask why I hadn't posted the expanded list of National Magazine Award nominations, complete with all the articles and authors. If you haven't seen it yet, it's here.

I was pleased to see that two of the hands-down best pieces of magazine writing I read last year were both nominated in the Profiles category: Andrew Corsello's typically gorgeous GQ feature about Gene Robinson, the gay Episcopal bishop, and Mark Leibovitch's hilarious, appalling profile of Chris Matthews in The New York Times Magazine.
