Late Breaks: 'NY Times,' AP vs. Fairey, more

-New York Times Co. chairman Arthur Sulzberger Jr.'s total compensation last year was $2.4 million, down from $3.4 million in 2007. But CEO Janet Robinson's total compensation rose from $4.1 million to $5.8 million. [Reuters]

-Michael Wolff thinks that both Carlos Slim and The New York Times's new landlord are both hoping the Times Co. goes bankrupt. [Newser]

-The Associated Press has filed a countersuit against artist Shepard Fairey, who used an AP photo as the basis of his famous Barack Obama poster. Fairey struck first after AP told him to stop violating its copyright. [AP] -New York Times TV critic Alessandra Stanley thinks that in allowing Erin Burnett to appear on The Apprentice, CNBC is "denting the credibility of one of its most visible business reporters."
