Late Breaks: MySpace, Glenn Beck, Media Layoffs

-It may be losing lots of ground to Facebook, but MySpace was still a great purchase for News Corp. [BreakingViews]

-Glenn Beck says he will never shut up. Also, he's shocked that people watch him. [LAT]

-It feels pretty awful out there, but there have actually been a lot fewer layoffs in media than in other sectors like retail and automotive. Not that that's any consolation to the 7,453 media workers who lost their jobs in January and February. [THR]

-Speaking of layoffs, employees of the Financial Times are protesting the decision to trim staff at a time when parent Pearson is posting large and growing profits. [Guardian]. □
