Duly Quoted: 'Times' Was Obsessed, Says Iseman

"I think they became so invested in this -- I believe they would have had to [have] believed in the beginning that this was true. And they became so invested...that they couldn't walk away."

-Lobbyist Vicki Iseman, interviewed on the CBS Early Show this morning about her battle with The New York Times. Iseman sued the paper over a Feb. 2008 story suggesting she had had an affair with John McCain. The two sides settled last month. On the Early Show, Iseman said she believed former McCain advisor John Weaver was the primary source for the article. □
