Idle Chatter: 'T' Minus Three; Liz Dishes the 'Post'

-Tribune Co. has canceled plans to sell Tribune Tower in Chicago and Times Mirror Square in Los Angeles. It turns out the real estate market is not so hot. Who knew? [Crain's Chicago Biz]

-The New York Times is scaling back the frequency of T magazine. The luxury lifestyle glossy had been one of the few parts of the company recording healthy ad growth. [NYP]

-Jerry Seinfeld is returning to NBC with a reality series called The Marriage Ref. He'll executive produce but may also have a limited on-camera role. [THR]

-Now it can be said: Liz Smith, recently dropped by the New York Post, is not a fan of the New York Post. "It has no New York heart," she says. [TDB]

-Neal Boulton, the out-there editor of the gay men's magazine Genre, has quit to write books. [P6]

-Gannett cut its dividend 90 percent, from 40 cents to 4 cents. [AP]
