Idle Chatter: Late-Night Drama; Street-Fighting Man

-Did NBC "sandbag" Conan O'Brien by giving Jay Leno a show at 10 p.m. just as O'Brien makes his move to 11:30? A lot of people think yes, but Conan's being a mensch about it, of course. [NYT]

-Five New York and New Jersey newspapers have entered into a content-sharing agreement to save money, even though some of them are direct competitors. [E&P]

-Bizarre: Christopher Hitchens got into a street fight with a group of skinheads in Beirut, but escaped with only minor injuries. [Huffpo]

-Employees of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer could save the paper by banding together to buy it. The union is meeting next week to discuss the idea. [PI]

-Employees of the Media General newspaper chain will have a lot of time off this year: They're each getting furloughed, without pay, for 10 days. [Release]. □
