-A group of Sirius XM creditors want Mel Karmazin to know that he can't save his job by taking the satellite radio company into Chapter 11. Karmazin is said to be wary of making a rescue deal with EchoStar mogul Charles Ergen for fear that Ergen will push him out. [Bloomberg]

-ABC's Sam Donaldson is finally retiring at age 74. [WaPo]

-Publisher Alfred A. Knopf is dead at 90. [NYT]

-Industry-wise, magazine ad pages in March issues are down 26 percent year-over-year. Ouch ouch ouch. [Crain's]
