-Meta alert, part one: A new book by Stephen King will initially be released exclusively for sale through Amazon's e-book reader, the Kindle. A "Kindle-like device" apparently figures in the book's plot. [WSJ]

-Hey, didja hear that Michael Phelps got caught smoking weed? The latest: Subway, although publicly standing behind the swimmer, looks to be delaying the launch of a new ad campaign he stars in. [Ad Age]
-Anderson News, one of the biggest magazine wholesalers, says it has no choice but to shut down. The move comes a few weeks after Anderson tried and failed to impose a 7 cent-per-copy charge of magazine publishers for distribution. [Mediaweek]
-Sports Illustrated is set to make $3 million off advertiser-sponsored promotions for its annual swimsuit issue -- which is fortunate because the issue itself contains 33 percent fewer ad pages this year. [WSJ]. □Comments
