Idle Chatter: Good Night, 'Nightline'? More...
-ABC is said to be considering moving up Jimmy Kimmel's show to go directly against The Tonight Show just as Conan O'Brien is taking over for Jay Leno there. Of course, this would mean bumping Nightline, which has held that slot for almost 30 years. ABC denies. [NYT]
-YouTube and the William Morris Agency are in talks about creating made-for-the-web videos featuring WMA's talent. YouTube is looking for more premium content that will command decent ad rates. [NYT]
-Congressional Quarterly is for sale. Its owner, Times Publishing Co., says CQ is profitable, but it needs the cash a sale would generate. [WSJ]
-The Washington Post is discontinuing its standalone books section, "Book World," at least in print. [FishbowlDC]
-New York Times publisher Arthur Sulzberger Jr. is dating some woman named Helen Ward and not Caroline Kennedy, as has been rumored. [P6]. □
