A Life in Tributes: James Brady

James Brady, a journalist who left his imprint on a slew of New York media institutions, died yesterday at age 80, apparently from a stroke. Over the course of his long career, Brady served as the editor of New York magazine and the Star, associate publisher of the New York Post and publisher of Women's Wear Daily, among other roles. He wrote long-running columns for Parade and Advertising Age, and another of more recent vintage for Forbes.

Oh, and he also wrote a number of books, both fiction and non-fiction, and won a bronze star for heroism in the Korean War. Quite a life.

Just about every publication that Brady worked for has offered a tribute. Read them here: Parade, WWD, New York, Forbes, Ad Age, New York Post. □
