'Times' Bids Bill Kristol Farewell

Well played, New York Times. For months, you stonewalled when asked whether unpopular conservative columnist William Kristol would remain on the op-ed page after his one-year contract expired this month. Today comes the announcement, tucked in at the bottom of an essay about whether Barack Obama will "save liberalism": "This is William Kristol's last column."

Kristol's lede: "All good things must come to an end." Don't flatter yourself, Bill. Not-so-good things end, too. □
