Idle Chatter: Cubs Pick a Buyer; Katie at 8; more

-Tribune Co. has accepted a $900 million bid by the Ricketts family for the Chicago Cubs. [ChiTrib]

-The New York Times Co. is close to reaching a sale-leaseback deal covering 19 floors of its headquarters building. The buyer will be W.P. Carey & Co. [NYT]

-CBS is going to air an edition of Evening News with Katie Couric in primetime next Wednesday, hoping it will lead new viewers to sample the show. [NYT]

-Disney is merging its ABC TV network with ABC Studios as a cost-saving measure. NBC Universal did the same last year with NBC and Universal Media Studios. [WSJ]

-Meanwhile, Disney's publishing arm has closed Wondertime, a parenting magazine. [NYP]

-Yahoo is freezing annual pay raises. [Bloomberg]. □
