Idle Chatter: Oscar Relents, Fake Steve Repents

-After the disastrously low ratings for last year's Oscars, ABC and the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences are making concessions to goose ad sales. The price of a spot is now $1.4 million, down from $1.7 million, and studios will be able to advertise their films for the first time. [Ad Age]

-Daniel Lyons, a.k.a. the writer formerly known as Fake Steve Jobs, says he's "embarrassed" that he called out CNBC reporter Jim Goldman as a "suck-up" for his off-target reporting on the real Steve Jobs. [NYT]
