23/6 Having Its Last Laughs?
IAC may be pleased as punch with The Daily Beast's fast start, but it appears to have lost patience with another new content venture: 23/6, the humor site it started last year in partnership with the Huffington Post. According to two sources with knowledge of the situation, IAC has pulled its support for the site, leaving Huffpo to decide on its own whether to keep it going. (Jossip is hearing the same, and PaidContent noted two weeks ago, when IAC dismantled its programming group, that Huffpo might be forced to take up the slack.)
"It does not look good," says one source involved. "IAC's out for sure. They don't want to be part of it anymore." A definitive answer on the site's fate is expected as early as tomorrow. A spokesman for the site wasn't immediately available to comment. □
