MSNBC's Mika Brzezinski to Write Advice Book

Morning Joe co-host Mika Brezinski has parlayed her show's buzz into a book deal. In spring 2010, Weinstein Books will publish Sometimes You Have to Take a Step Back, "a motivational book aimed at women, based on Mika's own personal and professional triumphs and failures." Topics will include the "importance of remaining equally humble in the face of great success and seemingly devastating setbacks." (Maybe someone should get Keith Olbermann a copy?)

Here's the release.

WEINSTEIN BOOKS TO PUBLISH BOOK BY "MORNING JOE"

CO-HOST AND MSNBC ANCHOR MIKA BRZEZINSKI

NEW YORK, NY (December 4, 2008)--Weinstein Books has acquired SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO TAKE A STEP BACK, by television personality Mika Brzezinski for Spring 2010 publication. Brzezinski, co-host of MSNBC's "Morning Joe," is a former "60 Minutes" correspondent and frequent contributor to NBC Nightly News. Weinstein Books Publisher Judy Hottensen acquired World, Audio, and First Serial rights from Mel Berger of the William Morris Agency.

SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO TAKE A STEP BACK will be a motivational book aimed at women, based on Mika's own personal and professional triumphs and failures -- all of which have led her to her current position as one of television's most outspoken and respected rising stars. Blending the personal with the prescriptive, Brzezinski's book will address the perpetual question of "having it all" when it comes to work and family; the importance of remaining equally humble in the face of great success and seemingly devastating setbacks; as well as the necessity of knowing and embracing our limitations so that we may transcend them.

Prior to joining MSNBC in January 2007, Brzezinski was an anchor of the "CBS Evening News Weekend Edition" and a correspondent who frequently contributed to "CBS Sunday Morning" and "60 Minutes." She is widely recognized for her role at CBS as the principle "Ground Zero" reporter during the September 11, 2001 terrorists attacks, broadcasting live from the scene when the South Tower collapsed.
