Idle Chatter: Ashlee Simpson, Bane of Copy Editors

-Ratings for sitcoms and dramas are rebounding somewhat as viewers who were riveted to news channels for the duration of the presidential election return to their normal viewing patterns. [WSJ]

-Time magazine is consolidating its international editions into one, which will be edited in New York, not London. [NYP]

-Broadcast radio advertising was down for the 18th straight month in October, and this even though the total radio audience has increased somewhat. [NYT]

-Someone at OK is going to get fired for not realizing that Ashlee Simpson's name was misspelled on the cover. Sadly, this is not a joke. [P6]

-Book publishers are encouraging their editors to cut back on taking agents out for expensive lunches. [NYO]. □
