Poll: Who Should Be the New Colmes?
In case you haven't heard yet, Alan Colmes, the sometimes-sparring partner, sometimes-punching bag of Sean Hannity on Fox News's Hannity & Colmes, is leaving to start a weekend show on the network. Assuming Fox decides to maintain the hour as a right-versus-left shoutfest, that means a job is open for a left-leaning talking head. Who should it be?
The obvious in-house choices are Kirsten Powers and Juan Williams, both of whom are pretty centrist. (In fact, I'm not even sure Williams identifies as a Democrat, but he ends up playing that role on Fox News Sunday.) Former Wonkette blogger and Time contributor Ana Marie Cox is a frequent MSNBC guest, as is The Nation's Chris Hayes. And if Fox really decides to challenge Hannity, it could always recruit Jesse Lange, a.k.a. the teenager who schooled Bill O'Reilly on his own show.
