Kansas Out as President of IAC's FiLife

Tonight, Barry Diller's IAC celebrates the surprisingly-successful-so-far launch of The Daily Beast. But another one of its web startups is facing fresh uncertainty: FiLife, the five-month-old personal finance site launched in partnership with The Wall Street Journal, is losing its president, Dave Kansas.

A Dow Jones spokesman confirmed that Kansas, a former editor in chief of TheStreet.com, is stepping down, although not leaving entirely. "He is taking a role as editor at large and he is focusing on developing content and promoting the site on TV and radio, etc." emailed the spokesman. Kansas is also writing a book to be published by HarperCollins, The Wall Street Journal Guide to the End of Wall Street as We Know It. Kansas referred calls to an IAC spokeswoman, who wasn't immediately available.

FiLife is supposed to help young consumers figure out how they're doing, financially, relative to their peers. Or something like that. At any rate, it hasn't generated a lot of traffic in its first months:

Update: An IAC spokewoman says digital-media consultant Ezra Kucharz will replace Kansas as president of FiLife in December. Kucharz was EVP of North American online operations for Oberon Media and has also been COO of iVillage. "They'll be working closely together," adds the spokeswoman.
