Newsweeklies Hurry President Obama into Print

For the cable news networks, it was a relatively early election night for once. (Wolf Blitzer knocked off at 3 a.m., the lazy bastard!)

But at Time it was another story. The editorial staff crashed the new issue to get it on newsstands a day early, closing at 9 this morning. It goes on sale tomorrow. Here's the cover. What did I tell you about how magazine editors can't bear to mess up that pretty punim with cover lines?

More: Newsweek also closed its new issue this morning. But whereas Time went with a news photo from last night, its rival appears to have used an image from sometime earlier. (A spokeswoman couldn't immediately say when it was taken.)
