Idle Chatter: Some Things Never, uh, Change

-So much for Rupert Murdoch being a closeted Barack Obama supporter. The News Corp. chief labeled the Democratic candidate's tax plans "crazy" and "rubbish" and slammed his trade policies as potentially "a real setback for globalization." [The Australian]

-NBC News isn't much closer to deciding who will replace Tim Russert as host of Meet the Press than it was three months ago. Katie Couric is in the mix as an outside candidate, and Gwen Ifill has been approached as well. [NYT]
