-Shades of Jayson Blair: a New York Times freelancer misstated research findings and rewrote a quote to make them work in his story on the stress of business travel. [NYT via Gawker]

-Admen as political bellwether? More than two-thirds of those attending the Association of National Advertisers conference said they planned to vote for Barack Obama. At the 2004 conference, a majority expressed support for George Bush. [NYT]

-John McCain's campaign won't let Time columnist Joe Klein on its plane. Says a McCain spokesman, "We don't let Daily Kos diarists on board, either." Zing! [Politico]

-Did Family Guy go too far with a joke about how Nazis would've voted for John McCain? (P.S.: Given that Family Guy airs on Fox, is it irony or synergy that it's Fox News calling foul here?) [FoxNews.com]

-William Reilly, who founded the now-defunct niche-publishing giant Primedia, has died of cancer. He was 70. [Folio]. □
