-The baseball playoffs, and perhaps the finale of Project Runway, took a sizable bite out of the ratings for Tuesday's presidential debate, which drew only (or "only") 56.5 million viewers. [Huffpo]

-Brian Williams is finally going to get his shot at Sarah Palin, although John McCain will be on hand to chaperone. [TVNewser]

-It's official: Glenn Beck is leaving Headline News for Fox News. [NYT]

-Facebook could follow MySpace into the music business. [NYP]

-There are no firm plans yet for a third season of Mad Men, but AMC has said it wants to renew the drama. [Variety]. □
