Idle Chatter: World Series Ratings, 'TV Guide'
[A word from your blogger: I'm on jury duty today and tomorrow, so posting will be unpredictable but lighter than usual.]
-Fox claims it will be perfectly happy with a World Series between the Philadelphia Phillies and the Tampa Bay Rays, even though no one will watch it.
-PBS won't air a documentary on torture until after George Bush is out of office, bolstering claims that the network is rife with conservative bias. [NYT]
-TV Guide's new owners paid $1 for it -- in other words, a third what they would've paid for a single copy of TV Guide. [Ad Age]
-Ad spending in innovative but unproven media channels such as video games and cell phones is falling fast. [WSJ]. □
