So National Review columnist Christopher Buckley endorses Barack Obama, and triggers so much hate mail from the magazine's right-wing readership that he feels compelled to offer his resignation -- an offer that's accepted with such alacrity by the magazine's management that Buckley considers himself fired.

Meanwhile, the National Review is running a piece titled "The Coming Obama Thugocracy: Attempts to shut down political speech have become routine for liberals."

Who's stifling speech, again?
