Will the Sun Go Down on the 'New York Sun'?

The New York Sun, the neo-conservative daily founded in 2002 as a counterbalance to the (perceived) liberalism of The New York Times, will shut its doors if it can't find new backers by the end of September, the paper announced tonight.

"It is read daily by tens of...New Yorkers, including the political, policy, and cultural leadership in the city," according to editor Seth Lipsky. (Okay, he actually said "tens of thousands," but come on.). □
