Sarah Palin Bio Headed for Best-Seller List

It remains to be seen whether John McCain's choice of running mate will be good for our democracy, but it's proving quite the windfall for Epicenter Press. The tiny Kenmore, Wash.-based publisher is responsible for the only known biography of Alaska governor Sarah Palin, Sarah: How a Hockey Mom Turned Alaska's Political Establishment Upside Down, by Kaylene Johnson.

Epicenter chief Kent Sturgis says the book was selling briskly even before Friday's surprise announcement that Palin, who has less than two years' experience in statewide office and none at the national level, will accompany McCain on the ticket. Now it's looking like a likely best-seller: It's No. 43 on Amazon.com and No. 15 on Barnes & Noble. How much of that surge is political reporters trying to get up to speed?

Update: Jacket Copy was on this a few days ago. It looks like Sarah spiked even higher right after the announcement, breaking into the Amazon top 10 before falling to its present level.
