No Axings at Bloomberg Over Steve Jobs Obit
Will someone really get fired at Bloomberg over the accidental publication of a pre-written obituary for Steve Jobs, Apple's ailing but still very much breathing CEO? A Bloomberg spokeswoman says no, speculation to the contrary.
"This was a routine update of his biography by the obits department," says the spokeswoman. "It was not meant for publication and by mistake was put on the external wire instead of the internal wire for a moment. It was removed within thirty seconds. There was no chance that this would have been mistaken for a news story or an obituary for publication since it was clearly a template, plainly marked as internal notes and a biography."
Of course, that doesn't mean someone hasn't already received the tongue-lashing of his or her life from a certain bow-tied executive...
