Denver Nugget: Brauchli, Downie Both at DNC

Wall Street Journal staffers in Denver for the Democratic National Convention may run into a familiar face: Marcus Brauchli, the former Journal managing editor who was pushed out by owner Rupert Murdoch in April.

Brauchli doesn't take up his new duties as executive editor of the Washington Post until Sept. 8, but he's getting a taste of things to come, monitoring the DNC proceedings with a team of Posties that also includes current executive editor Leonard Downie Jr. (Awk-ward!) Via email, Brauchli says he's "mostly observing and getting to know folks." (And schmoozing, of course: Michael Calderone ran into him at Slate's party Monday night.)
