Tina Brown's Daily Beast: Now With a URL!
A couple weeks ago, I noted that Tina Brown had started telling people her new, Barry Diller-backed news website would be called The Daily Beast, but had seemingly neglected to secure any of the obvious URLs for that name. In fact, thedailybeast.com was at that point for sale to the highest bidder.
Well, good news: Diller's IAC/InterActive Corp. is now the proud owner of that domain, as of Aug. 14. Dailybeast.com's registration has also been updated; it's registered anonymously, but seeing as it simply redirects to thedailybeast.com, I'm guessing IAC bought that one, too.
As for the trademark, IAC took care of that back in July.
