-Paris Hilton's Republican mom said she didn't appreciate John McCain's "Celeb" ad, which compared Barack Obama to Paris and Britney. [MSN]

-The San Francisco Chronicle is offering buyouts to 125 employees, with layoffs likely if it doesn't hit the magic number. [SFGate via Romenesko]. □
