Obama = Paris Hilton? If So, He's In Good Company

Bill Press thinks John McCain was being racist when he suggested that Barack Obama is the Paris Hilton and/or Britney Spears of politics in this new campaign ad:

To recap, then: If you compare a black man to another black man, as Bill Clinton did when he equated Obama's victory in South Carolina* with Jesse Jackson's, that's racist. If you equate a black man with a white woman, that's also racist. Gotcha.

Here's another thought: Maybe McCain and his admen were just being really unoriginal? After all, if you believe the internet, then...

New York mayor Mike Bloomberg is the Paris Hilton of politics.

Pennsylvania governor Ed Rendell is also the Paris Hilton of politics.

Ann Coulter is the Britney Spears of politics.

Hillary Clinton is also the Britney Spears of politics.

Anderson Cooper is the Paris Hilton of TV news.

Aaron Rodgers is the Paris Hilton of the NFL.

The iPhone is the Paris Hilton of phones.

Alex Kozinski is the Paris Hilton of the federal judiciary.

And of course there's John McCain himself -- a.k.a. the Paris Hilton of politics. But not the one and only.

Correction: This originally said "North Carolina," which was incorrect. It was South Carolina.
